I get a lot of business related questions everyday from different people. Many of these questions are the same, but phrased differently. Some tackle a certain topic that I personally would love to share to others.
That being said (and trust me, it’s tough to type individual answers to all using iPhone), I decided to put up a blog and build around the concept of having a community, a group of people who are riding on the same wave — with shared set of values, thoughts, interests, and the like!
Here are some of the questions I frequently get asked by family, friends, acquaintances and other people introduced to me:
1. Hi Em, I hope you can connect me to someone…?
2. Em, how do I start…?
3. I need some business advice, Em! (This isn’t really a question…)
4. Hey Em, I’m struggling with a number of challenges right now with my business, can you help me out…?
5. Em, I’d like to know your thoughts on…?
6. Hi Em, how do you usually deal with…?
7. Hey Em, hope you could give me a step-by-step guide about…?
While I am not a formal business guru, a number of people seem to trust my advice when it comes to these matters. And with a good number of returning friends who keep on coming back for free business-related consultations, I decided to dedicate this website to doing just that. So not only can the people in my circle learn from my experiences, but also a wider group of readers, too.
Allow me to tell you a bit about myself. I was an expat for almost 10 years. 8 years I spent traveling all over the Asia Pacific region for a logistics and fulfillment company, and another 2 years I spent in Africa as an HR Director for a pioneering BPO Company whose mother company is in the States. In the span of these 10 years, I’ve worked with multinationals of various roles, and have been circulated in almost all the departments (well, all except for legal, medical, maintenance, and janitorial).

While I thought this constant movement would turn me into a jack…Jane of all trades, it actually helped mold me into Project Leader role of the countries I’ve worked at. And of course, it came with a greater responsibility of finding solutions to challenges, troubleshooting problems and solving them. It was at times very overwhelming. I had to take a step back and put things into perspective. I realized that this was something inborn in me—something ingrained into my system! I had a doll factory at the age of 16. I had several small businesses while in university. I was a working student. I have always been fascinated with making my own money and being as independent as early as possible.
It just made sense to be working in a position that allowed me to connect the dots and gain a wealth and breadth of experience from them. While I made lots of mistakes along the way, I learned from them and did better the next time a challenging situation was placed under my nose. I came armed and ready with an open mind and bags of chocolates 🙂
Through this blog, I would like to:
1. Connect you with highly reliable service providers, suppliers, and other people who can help make things happen for you.
2. Help you kickstart and sustain your own business.
3. Bring your ideas to life—ideas aren’t just meant to be put on paper!
4. Help you expand your business.
5. Get your business working at its best!
Feel free to ask me anything as well! My experience working in the corporate world and as an entrepreneur has taught me that there are no stupid questions. We all have to start from somewhere, and the first step is to start asking questions and finding answers to things we do not know. “Every big thing starts from small beginnings.” So feel free to reach out if you need some advice or if you’d like me to connect you to someone.
I will also be putting a list of highly reliable suppliers and service providers in this blog. As well as a list of my favorite brands and products! Feel free to browse and I hope you find something you need. If you have a business and you want to be listed in my directory, just email me and my assistant will send you a form to be filled up.
I hope you will find something useful in this blog! If you do, feel free to share with your family, friends, and acquaintances. Feel free to repost, or to leave a note in the comments section.
Let’s connect, empower, equip, conquer! I’m excited to embark on this journey with you.
