When I was younger, I used to read a lot of books about fairies, shamans, healers, forests, flowers, herbs, trees, the mystical power of nature. As a kid, I loved collecting flowers and leaves, and drying them in between pages of the books I am reading. It’s my way of escaping and imagining. Some people use music, painting, drawing, cooking, chatting with friends to escape. Mine is reading.
Day 3 of this Create Camp is all about salts, oils, scrubs, and masks. All these beautiful creations bring back those childhood memories and imaginings of “fairies, dwarves, positive spirit of the land and all living things.” Wistful thinking of visiting far away exotic lands. It’s a very warm feeling. One that I cannot fully explain. It’s like a happy dream.
Teacher Ana advocates going as organic as possible. If organic materials are not available, it has to be all natural and food grade.
I made a Summer Beach Oil because we love the beach so much, Baby’s Dry Skin Remedy with my two babies in mind, Really Good Hair Oil and Really Good Face Oil for me, a good number of Bath Salts, Muscle Pain Relief for hubby, Honey Sea Salt Mask, Herb Mask, Raw Sugar Body Polish, and Body Polish. Everything we created were very luxurious, generous, honest and proven effective.
Like the Day 1 and Day 2, we geeked-out again on science behind our creations. Life force, water moisture, micro-organisms, osmosis, properties of the raw materials, or so much more. All our creations are not just “making.” You know, like people teaching students how to “make.” I think that’s the easiest part. Anybody can demo and people can follow. But the knowledge behind it, years of practice and application, feedback and testimonies from real people who used Teacher Ana’s creations — now these are not easy. A huge part of the classes and workshops are education, discussion, Q&A, then hands-on. Everything is backed-up by science, traditional and modern medicine, and many more. It is not just “making.”
From this workshop, I took home and learned how to make the following:
- Summer Beach Oil
- Child’s Dry Skin Remedy
- Hair Oil
- Face Oil
- Relaxing Bath Soak / Salts
- Rejuvenating Bath Soak / Salts
- Muscle Pain Relief Soak / Salts
- Honey Sea Salt Mask
- Herb Mask
- Bath Fiz / Bath Bomb
- Raw Sugar Leg and Foot Polish
- Body Butter
As you can see from the list, it was a very very busy day of making and creating. For someone like me, who values time, energy, and efforts – this Create Camp is so worth it!
Sharing with you some photos of our beautiful day 🙂
My most favorite creation from this day so far is the Summer Beach Oil. I need to reproduce it asap since we finished the whole batch already from our recent beach trip. I love the smell so much and I’m sure you’ll love it too!
